Advancing our mission, YSJ presents IFYR (the International Fair of Youth Researchers). IFYR is a rigorous research competition aimed at bringing Commendable discoveries to light. In IFYR, students present their research work in front of a committee of seasoned researchers. The competition represents the ideal opportunity to innovate, follow your insatiable curiosity, and delve into the realms of science. Highlighting innovative projects, IFYR envisions making an impact and contributing to tackling world-pressing challenges. This initiative was designed to expand the boundaries of scientific discovery.

Presenting the important events througout the season

  1. IFYR registration commences. Teams who haven’t completed their project can seek technical assistance from our research administrators on the competition discord.
  2. IFYR registration closes. All participating teams must submit their research articles by this date.
  3. Round one results are out. Qualifiers are asked to submit presentations and are informed with the second round details.
  4. IFYR's second round is held. Qualified research articles are appraised by experienced judicators.
  5. Announcing IFYR winners. All finalist teams receive a comprehensive report of their rank and performance.

Important Notes:

  • All papers must follow YSJ guidlines
  • The use of Visuals & Illustrations (Figures, Graphs, Tables, etc...) is encouraged.

    • Eligibilty Criteria

  • Maximum team size: 5 members
  • Team members are registered as undergraduate or high school students for the 2025 academic year
  • Having a postgraduate student (senior researcher) as a supervisor is allowed. Note: the senior researcher is counted as a team member.
  • Students from all nationalities can take part.
  • The research paper must follow the YSJ guidelines.

    • BREAKING ANY OF THE FOLLOWING RULES CAN LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION

  • Plagiarism
  • Utilization of generative AI tools in writing (except for this, using AI tools is permittable)
  • noncommitment to research ethics

Frequent Asked Questions (F.A.Qs)

In case you have a project idea but haven’t yet completed the entire project, you can follow the following procedures to register: fill in the application and choose the option “no” in the question “upload paper now”. After applying, you will find the competition discord where you can seek technical support. However, you are supposed to upload your paper on the application portal by the registration deadline.

In the first round, all the submitted articles are reviewed by the journal editors, and the best research articles are qualified to the second round. Carefully deliberated aspects include research originality, academic writing, as well as the commitment to research ethics.

Qualifiers go on to the second, and the last, round, where they have a 15-minute presentation in the presence of a judicator, highlighting the novel and most important aspects of their research. Before the second round, each team is asked to submit a presentation. The top three teams in each field are announced as winners.
